Bringing you a fresh, bright new taste adventure from small farmers and single origins - the best coffee beans Africa has to offer
Cupper's Journey is an innovative coffee business, dedicated to delivering high-quality coffee to discerning customers who appreciate the finer flavours that these beans produce.
It is true to say that Sarah and I are not roasters or Q Grade qualified graders, but we do belong to the SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) and believe me when I say that we are as deeply passionate about our coffee as our more esteemed colleagues! We have spent much of our time learning from the experts who have willingly shared their knowledge and experience, for which we are extremely grateful. Indeed, without their help, we would not have come so far.
Our journey into coffee can be traced to our time in Cape Town itself, one of the great foodie cities of the world and one that has a real coffee vibe. Hosting a plethora of coffee houses with roasters and baristas working with great pride and knowledge, who have immersed themselves in the creation of the perfect brew! It was this that inspired Sarah and me to work with our dear friend Nigel, who, like us, is a foodie and coffee fanatic, to create Cupper's Journey.

The Coffee Scene here…
One thing we have learnt as we have developed Cupper's Journey is that whilst the Speciality Coffee sector now accounts for 31% of the market and is continuing to grow as people’s tastes become more refined, the phrase Speciality Coffee covers a wide range of quality beans. We pride ourselves on sourcing the very best coffee beans, in the hope that we can convert people to enjoying speciality coffee every day!
That is why our aim is to purchase beans with a cupping score
as a minimum, always Single Origin and ideally from Single Estates.
Why?
By doing this, we will develop long-term relationships with growers as our business develops and ensure that, through our expert roaster, Alex, we have curated great coffee. By doing this, we have met the vital sustainability and ethical criteria that this industry needs in order to thrive, and provided essential support to the value chain from the grower to the cup. (It also means we always have great coffee to drink at home!!)
